Disability support

LAMB focuses on supporting children with disabilities, although adults are also sometimes assisted.

Community-based Rehabilitation

LAMB runs a monthly mobile clinic in 40 communities where disabled children and their parents gather. Training and therapy is provided, both to the group overall and to parents and children individually. The clinic sessions give parents the opportunity to share experiences.

Disability team staff visit the homes of disabled children to provide advice and therapy and to demonstrate exercise programmes. They also work on behalf of disabled children to get them places in normal schools. And carry out awareness raising activities in communities, with the message that disabled people are a regular part of communities.

Case-finding to refer patients for further help is also part of the programme, primarily focused on special needs such as clubfeet and burn contractures.
