LAMB AT A GLANCE
Location
LAMB is located in north-west Bangladesh. The main hospital site is located 2 kilometres West of the town of Parbatipur, about 24 kilometres East of the district city of Dinajpur.
Facilities
At the main site, our key facilities are- 150 bed general hospital, with additional facilities for outpatients and other needs
- A training centre with 6 classrooms, and residential facilities for trainees
- Office accommodation for hospital, centrally based community staff, and support staff
- Residential accommodation for more than 150 members of staff and their families and a Guest House for short term workers and visitors
Services
The key services are

- General surgery, mainly abdominal, chest, gynaecology, cleft lip/ palate, emergency

- Community activities including health promotion, micro-credit, development

Staff
LAMB has in total 660 staff, of whom 400 are permanent staff, and 260 are contract staff working in the community on funded projects.
Of the staff, approximately 50% are Christian, 25% Muslim and 25% Hindu
Finances
Current LAMB budget is approximately US$ 1.8 million per year, Taka 12.2 crore.
The income is approximately 45% for work done for donor and other agencies, 35% from patients and 15% from donations from churches and other kind sources.
Of patients, two-thirds receive a subsidy from the Poor Fund for their bill and about 20% pay nothing at all.
